We are pleased to announce our plans for Phase Two of the restoration of Penllergare Valley Woods: the walled gardens, vinery and orchid house.
Please click here to read about our plans.
As well as restoring the walled garden, we are looking to develop a series of activities. We have begun to break them down into key projects as outlined below:
We are proposing an annual programme of thematic & seasonal events including; Flower festivals, historical talks & lectures, guided walks, stargazing evenings, photographic workshops, exhibitions, outdoor concerts, community events & fundraisers.
What kind of events would you find appealing? Would you, or a group you are part of, want to host any events at PVW and if so, what facilities would you need?
A series of gardening clubs for under-represented and harder to reach audiences that include therapeutic gardening activities and promote health & wellbeing.
Are you part of any groups who would benefit from engagement in this type of project?
What would we need to do to make it attractive and beneficial to you?
Are you interested in volunteering? If so, what types of volunteering activities would most interest you? E.g. front of house, conservation, gardening etc.
We are also developing ideas for youth engagement, family trails/activities, a schools project, a project related to dog training/obedience, and a project which will look to improve the interpretation of the stories of the woods.
