Wildcraft: The Outdoor Adventure for Video Gamers
Saturday 27th May @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday 28th May @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Back by popular demand this Easter holiday! Woodland Classroom are bringing their video game inspired activity days back to Penllergare. In computer games like Minecraft and Terraria, players have to survive in a hostile environment; build their own house, hunt for their food, hunt for materials and fend off wandering monsters. Sure, your child can survive in the wilderness on the computer screen, but can they do it out in the woods? In this unique outdoor game kids have to work together, using what they know from video games, to learn outdoor survival skills and earn points along the way.

Playing the ‘Wildcraft Adventure’ game is a fantastic way to get your video game obsessed child out into nature.
Just like in their favourite computer games, kids will be set a number of challenges throughout the day, and all the while be building their dens before ‘night’ falls and the monsters wake up. Players will light their own campfire, ‘mine’ for resources and use sharp axes; all closely supervised by experienced Forest School leaders. There’ll be plenty of time to get creative with play and imagination – of course. This will be a full day of video game inspired activities for kids aged 6-12 years from 10am to 4pm.
They will also be enjoying some hot campfire snacks such as sausages, marshmallows and hot chocolate. Children should bring their own packed lunch though.
Tickets are just £30 per child and there are discount places of £27.50 for each additional sibling.
Open to all children aged 6-12 years. Advance booking is essential – these events have proved REALLY popular.
Parents don’t stay with their children during this event. These forest school activity days are all supervised by trained and experienced staff. If your child has special needs that you feel would require a parent or guardian to stay with them for the day though, we would advise getting in touch with Woodland Classroom in advance of making a booking and we’ll see what we can arrange. We like to be as inclusive as we can.
Woodland Classroom are experienced forest school leaders and outdoor educators.
